§ Mr. AtkinsThe proposed eco-labelling scheme for detergents will amplify and reinforce the information provided on labels on detergent packaging. As the Government's response to the 16th report of the Royal Commission on environmental pollution made clear, the Government will keep under review the need for any further guidance. My Department is encouraging consumer groups to discuss with the Soap and Detergent Industry Association their concerns about labelling.
