§ Lord James Douglas-Hamilton[holding answer 21 June 1995]: The process of seeking private sector partners is not yet complete in the Edinburgh and Lanarkshire trusts, so final costs cannot yet be provided. However, two of the trusts have indicated that they expect the cost of the entire process to be between 0.5 per cent. and 0.75 per cent. of the total capital cost. The non-clinical services referred to include estates services, building maintenance, hotel services, supplies, laundry, theatre sterile supplies, medical records, transport services, security car parking, grounds and gardens, switchboard services and information technology. Not all of the services include every one of these areas.
