§ Mr. MacleanThe Home Office has no funds for the direct provision of security support to individual householders, although we do run regular information campaigns on various aspects of crime prevention. I understand from the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis that his officers actively supports neighbourhood watch schemes and other local crime prevention initiatives; and offer home security advice to householders, including domestic surveys. His successful campaign against burglary—Operation Bumblebee—has also raised public awareness about home security.
