To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the cost to his Department in each of the past three years of promoting Gaelic broadcasting; and what is the projected cost for the current financial year. [29750]

[holding answer 21 June 1995]: Government support for Gaelic broadcasting over the past three years is given in the table. The projected expenditure in the current financial year is £8,930,000.
