HC Deb 19 June 1995 vol 262 c22W
Mr. David Young

To ask the Secretary of State for Education how much public money has been paid to St. James school, Farnworth, since it opted out; what effect there has been on spending from public funds as a result of problems in financial management at the school; and if she will make a statement. [28963]

Mr. Robin Squire

St. James is a grant-maintained school. Responsibility for payment of grants to the school and for monitoring its financial management therefore rests with the Funding Agency for Schools. I have asked the agency's chairman to write to the hon. Member.
