(2) what information is recorded, and how this information is stored, when a visitor to the United Kingdom who is not required to possess a visitor's visa is admitted at a port of entry; [29787]

(3) what information is recorded, and how this information is stored, when a visitor to the United Kingdom with a valid visitor's visa is admitted at a port of entry; [28786]

(4) what information is recorded when a person who entered the United Kingdom in possession of a valid visitor's visa, leaves the United Kingdom. [28788]

Mr. Nicholas Baker

Information about bona fide visitors, whether or not they require a visa, is not routinely recorded either on arrival or departure. Details of a person's limited leave to enter, and subsequent departure, may, however, be recorded on the Immigration and Nationality Department electronic computer system depending upon individual circumstances. In such cases, information given on arrival will be recorded on an arrival card for input on INDECS. Where a detailed interview is required, any supplementary notes will be filed at the port and the outcome may be reported to the Immigration and Nationality Department for information.
