§ Mr. LangThe name of each Scottish member and alternate of the Committee of the Regions is given in the 109W table. In accordance with article 198a of the Maastricht treaty, members are nominated by member states and appointed by the Council for a period of four years. Members were elected representatives from both tiers of Scottish local government.
