To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment when he expects to announce his decision in respect of Doncaster metropolitan borough council's application for a compulsory purchase order to preserve the wetland site at Old Denaby; and if he will make a statement. [28266]

Doncaster metropolitan borough council has not yet made a compulsory purchase order for the preservation of this wetland site. If it does make an order, it will be submitted to the Secretary of State for confirmation and, if opposed, may then be the subject of a public local inquiry.
