To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what financial support is currently being provided by his Department to the Royal Life Saving Society. [26748]

The Royal Life Saving Society (UK) does not receive any financial support from my Department.

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what arrangements he has with the Royal Life Saving Society relating to information required in responding to hon. Members questions concerning(a) coastal safety and (b) coastal lifeguard services. [26652]

Mr. Nicholas Baker

My Department has no standing arrangements for obtaining information from the Royal Life Saving Society (UK) on coastal water safety issues. But we would, of course, be ready to seek information from the society if we had reason to believe that it might be able to assist the preparation of a reply to a question from an hon. Member.
