§ Mr. RichardsThe number of teachers taking premature retirement was 723 in 1993–94 and 742 in 1994–95. The definition of premature retirement excludes retirement on health grounds and also excludes all teachers aged under 50. The data are provided by the Teachers' Pension Agency.
