To ask the President of the Board of Trade when his Department received reports from Swedish customs of the outcome of their investigation into shipments to Iran which mentioned Royal Ordnance; and what action it took. [35335]

[holding answer 18 July 1995]: No arrangements exist for the provision of information by overseas customs authorities to the Department of Trade and Industry. Any such information would be provided to HM Customs and Excise.

Mr. Byers

To ask the President of the Board of Trade what reports his Department received concerning the shipping of goods to Iran in September 1985 by MV Sea Trader, June 1986 by MS Jotun and in August 1986 by MV Gritt Clipper IV, and if he will make a statement. [35342]

[holding answer 18 July 1995]: It is not clear what the hon. Member is alluding to. However, if he believes that he has information relevant to a breach of export controls, it would be helpful if he could please provide it to the Department.
