Mr. John Austin-Walker

To ask the Secretary of State for Health on what date services from the Brook hospital will transfer to the Queen Elizabeth military hospital, Woolwich; what was the target date for transfer; and if he will make a statement. [25938]

Mr. Sackville

Greenwich Healthcare national health service trust intends to begin the transfer of services from the Brook Hospital to the Queen Elizabeth military hospital as close to the target of mid-August as possible. Clearly the highest priority is to ensure that local residents continue to have access to safe and effective health services.

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what is the number of redundancies as a result of the impending closures of the Brook hospital and the Queen Elizabeth military hospital, Woolwich; if he will provide a breakdown by occupation showing the numbers of NHS and MoD staff redundant; and if he will make a statement.
