To ask the President of the Board of Trade how many unfair dismissal cases were brought against his Department during the last 12 months, how many were successful; and what were the total costs including legal fees and compensation. [34617]

[holding answer 14 July 1995]: One case of unfair dismissal against DTI was concluded in the last 12 months. The case was unsuccessful. Total costs amounted to £5,251.17.
