§ Mr. Andrew MitchellAs at 3 April 1993, the latest year for which actual figures are available, there were 316,000 recipients of severe disablement allowance. The numbers entitled to the higher, middle and lower rate age allowances were 211,000; 54,000 and 45,000 respectively.
