2. The figures for dentists in general practice include principals, assistants and vocational trainees. Some dentists may have contracts with more than one Family Health Services Authority. These dentists have been counted only once.
3. Some general medical and dental practitioners also do hospital sessions. Theses are included in the hospital and community health services figure. Adding the two rows in the table will produce an element of double counting.
4. All figures exclude locums.
