To ask the President of the Board of Trade how much has been recovered under section 242a of the Companies Act 1985 in penalties and how much has been claimed in penalties and is still outstanding; how many claims for payment of a civil penalty under section 242a have ben made; and in how many cases the Registrar of Companies has exercised his discretion under subsection (3) of section 242a.
