§ Mr. SoamesThis matter is for the Naval Recruiting and Training Agency under its framework document. I have asked the chief executive to write to the hon. Member.
Letter from A. L. Chilton to Mr. Robert Hicks, dated 18 July 1995:
The Secretary of State for Defence has asked the Chief Executive of the Naval Recruiting and Training Agency to reply to your Parliamentary Question, about the number of Naval officer cadets and ratings, expressed in terms of male and female recruits, who were educated in both the private and public sectors of education for the last three years for which figures are available. I am replying in the absence of the Chief Executive.I must advise you that, whilst the Directorate of Naval Recruiting records basic details of the school, college or university history of all officer and rating recruits, it does not record whether these institutions are based in the private or public sector. I regret, therefore, that it is not possible to provide you with this information.
