§ Mr. David ShawTo ask the Secretary of State for Social Security if he will list the average net incomes before and after housing costs, after tax and benefits of(a) a lone mother of two children working 20 hours per week paying an average council rent and (b) a married man with two children and a dependent non-working wife working 40 hours per week paying an average council rent; and if he will give details of the calculation of each benefit to which they may be entitled on the basis of hourly pay rates of (i) £3.50, (ii) £4 and (iii) £5.
