To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security when the benefit take-up figures for 1992 will become available.

Mr. Bowden

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security what is his latest estimate of the number of pensioner households which do not claim(a) housing benefit and (b) income support to which they would be entitled; and what is this figure as a proportion of the total non-take-up of these benefits.

Estimates of the income-related benefit take-up for 1992 have today been published by the Government Statistical Service. Copies of the report have been placed in the Library.
