§ Mr. Douglas HoggA total of 8,706 Eritrean refugees have so far been repatriated from Sudan since the beginning of the project organised by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in November 1994.
UNHCR reports that the breakdown of diplomatic relations between Sudan and Eritrea has had very little effect on the programme. It expects to repatriate a total of 25,000 refugees by the end of April this year.
