§ Mr. CoxTo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what is the policy of his Department in informing people seeking to be members of boards of visitors in prisons in England and Wales of the reasons for any delay that may occur in the consideration of their appointment.
§ Mr. Michael ForsythI am aware that there have been too many delays in appointments in the past and I have asked for the system to be streamlined. However, some delays will continue to occur because of the need to obtain security clearance.
