§ Mr. NorrisThe estimated total cost of injury road accidents in England and Wales for 1993 is £8.1 billion. This is the cost-benefit value of the total benefits which would be obtained from the prevention of road accidents.
Expenditure on road and vehicle safety research in 1993–94 was £10.4 million and the planning budget is £10.08 million for both 1994–95 and 1995–96.
