§ Lord James Douglas-HamiltonNo guidelines are issued to regional and islands authorities specifically on first aid cover in schools. It is for authorities to make appropriate arrangements for first-aid cover, having regard to their responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work, etc. Act 1974 and to the guidance in the revised! approved code of practice published in February 1990 by the Health and Safety Commission in respect of the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981.
