HC Deb 14 February 1995 vol 254 c621W
Mr. Charles Kennedy

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland, pursuant to his answer of 18 January,Official Report, column 575, what plans he has to reassess the costs associated with agricultural arbitration cases; and if he will make a statement.

Sir Hector Monro

The rate of remuneration for agricultural arbiters appointed by the Secretary of State is normally reviewed annually. The current hourly rate was set in August 1989 and stands at £42. There are no plans at present to adjust the rate.

Other costs are a matter for the arbiter and the parties concerned in the arbitration.
