HC Deb 07 February 1995 vol 254 c225W
Mr. George Howarth

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how much has been paid thus far to KPMG management consultants as a result of their work on the market testing of the internal research function of his Department.

Mr. Howard

KPMG Peat Marwick management consultants have been paid for 10 days' work as part of the scoping study for the market test of the internal research function of the Home Office research and planning unit. Information on the costs of individual contracts with consultants is commercial in confidence and it is not the practice to disclose these details.

Mr. George Howarth

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department when he expects to publish the scoping study into the proposed market test of internal research function of the research and planning unit.

Mr. Howard

I expect the scoping study report to be completed towards the end of February. It is not the general practice to publish market-testing scoping study reports, which are internal working documents and can contain commercially sensitive information about potential service suppliers.
