HL Deb 18 December 1995 vol 567 c125WA
Lord Lester of Herne Hill

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will publish the results of the tests by the Defence Evaluation and Research Agency into the relative capabilities of the sexes in the Armed Forces.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Ministry of Defence (Earl Howe)

The research being undertaken by the Defence Evaluation and Research Agency on physical selection standards for the Army is not yet complete. The aim of this work is to predict an individual's capacity to carry out future employment in the Army. A report is expected in the second quarter of 1996 and when the Army has evaluated the results of the research, consideration will be given to publishing the findings.
