To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what was the maximum inmate population of Doncaster prison; and how many(a) sentenced and (b) remand prisoners under 18 years of age were held there in each month of 1995. [5517]

Letter from Richard Tilt to Mr. Martin Redmond, dated 14 December 1995: The Home Secretary has asked me to reply to your recent Question about what was the maximum inmate population of Doncaster prison; and how many (a) sentenced and (b) remand prisoners under 18 years of age were held there in each month of 1995. The maximum inmate population (operational capacity) of Doncaster prison is currently 850 prisoners. The other information requested is given in the attached table. Records are only available from April 1995.
