§ Mr. David DavisThe announcement that the UK has ceased production of fissile material for explosive purposes was made to show our commitment to the negotiation of a treaty banning such productions. We anticipate that negotiations will begin in June at the conference on disarmament in Geneva. We intend that the treaty should include appropriate verification arrangements.
