To ask the Secretary of State for Health what was the incidence of endometriosis in each of the last 10 years by region and nationally.

There are no precise statistics on the prevalence of endometriosis. Gynaecologists have reported the condition at laparoscopy in between 2 and 18 per cent. of women, many of whom had no symptoms.
