§ Mr. Robert B. JonesEstimates of the number of households affected by negative equity are calculated on a quarterly basis. Based on Department of the Environment house price data, around 644,000 households were affected by negative equity in the third quarter of 1994, compared with around 801,000 in the same quarter last year.
