§ Mr. SainsburyUnder the Commission's current proposals for Konver II each member state would have to prepare a map which concentrates funding in a limited number of areas which have lost or announced losses of at least 1,000 jobs in defence activities since 1 January 1990.
The Government have made it clear to the Commission that they favour a more flexible approach which would allow each member state to decide which areas should benefit under the Community initiative.
