§ Mr. Charles WardleI understand from the Commissioner that two officers escorted the British National party candidate, Mr. Derek Beackon, when he left York Hall, Bethnal Green after the announcement of the election result. Supporters and opponents of the British National party had gathered outside the building and the police were concerned that Mr. Beackon's appearance there might result in a breach of the peace.
