asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether there is any intention to sell or otherwise dispose of the RAF Memorial Chapel at Biggin Hill, together with the associated Hurricane and Spitfire gate guardians and, if so, how this action accords with repeated assurances, including a statement by the then Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for the Armed Forces (H.C. Deb., 16th June 1989, col. 1280) that this national shrine of remembrance would be retained and maintained "as a Royal Air Force responsibility".
