Mr. Jamieson

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (1) how many(a) independent and (b) grant-maintained schools have received free surplus food products from the EC since April 1989; and what was its market value;

(2) how many (a) independent and (b) grant-maintained schools have received free surplus stewing steak from the European Community since April 1993; and what was the total market value of the surplus stewing steak provided.

Independent and grant-maintained schools are not eligible for produce distributed under the EC surplus food scheme.
