§ Mr. Maxton
To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is his estimate of the tax yield from denying tax relief to pension scheme surpluses.

§ Mr. Dorrell
The amount of tax liable on refunds of surplus funds to employers is provisionally estimated to be £70 million in 1993–94.
