§ Mr. FreemanI have received a number of representations about the sale of both Greater Manchester Buses North and Greater Manchester Buses South recently. Amongst these was a letter about the sale of the North company from Coopers and Lybrand, Corporate Finance Services dated 15 March, to which an acknowledgement was sent on 17 March.
The Secretary of State's consent to both sales will eventually be required. In view of his quasi-judicial function in these sales it would not be appropriate for me to comment further or make a statement.
