To ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will list the main building and engineering contractors currently engaged in road construction projects funded by the Welsh Office; and if he will make a statement.

The building and civil engineering contractors currently employed by the Welsh Office on major motorway and trunk road contracts—those valued at over £3 million—are listed as follows:

  • Kier/Hochtief Joint Venture
  • Mowlem Construction Ltd.
  • Costain Civil Engineering
  • Amey Construction Ltd.
  • Laing Construction Ltd.
  • Alfred McAlpine Construction Ltd.
