To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what representations he has had from environmental groups against the imposition of VAT on domestic fuel.

I have received a number of representations from environmental groups on the imposition of VAT on domestic fuel. Friends of the Earth, for example, have beenbroadly supportive of Government moves to increase energy prices by imposing VAT on domestic fuel and power".
