Whether, in the current strategic review of pathology services in the National Health Service, full account is being taken of the responsibility of the universities with medical schools; whether the needs of small sub-branches of pathology such as neuropathology, ophthalmic pathology and cardiac pathology are being fully considered; and whether the responsibilities of departments of pathology for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and for research in the National Health Service are being fully recognised.
§ The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Health (Baroness Cumberlege)The discussions in the review will encompass the strategic aspects of the full range of pathology activities and responsibilities.
