What is the number of pitches on sites for which applications for Stage I approval had been sought by local authorities before 27th January 1994, and between 27th January and 4th March 1994 respectively; and the number of sites for which applications for Stage II grant have been sought without prior Stage I approval from 4th March to the latest convenient date.

Between 18th August 1992 and 27th January 1994, the Government received applications for Stage I approval in principle for gypsy site grant for 1,402 pitches, and between 27th January and 4th March for 541 pitches. Since 4th March until 23rd June, local authorities have submitted applications to proceed to tender (Stage II) for seven sites, comprising 130 pitches.
