HC Deb 21 July 1994 vol 247 c550W
Mr. Mackinlay

To ask the Prime Minister, pursuant to his answer of 27 January,Official Report, column 361, if he will reconsider his policy on whether a medal should be issued specifically for those who did national service.

The Prime Minister

We have no plans to institute an award specifically for those who served a period of national service in the armed forces. They were eligible for the range of official awards approved by the sovereign at the time.
