HC Deb 19 July 1994 vol 247 c175W
Sir Roger Moate

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department on how many occasions in the last 30 years the Home Secretary has refused a request by the United States for extradition from the United Kingdom.

Mr. Maclean

In the past 30 years, the Secretary of States has not refused any request from the United States which has been considered and approved by the courts; but on at least two occasions his decision to order surrender to the USA has been set aside by the High Court in judicial review proceedings.
