To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what was the total public expenditure on child care services for pre-school children under the age of five years, by sector, including all local authority provision and grants to the voluntary sector, for each year from 1989–90 to 1993–94; and what was the total public expenditure on these services as a percentage of gross domestic product for Wales in each of these years.
