HC Deb 11 July 1994 vol 246 cc449-50W
Mr. Andrew Smith

To ask the Secretary of State for Education how many primary schools, by local education authority, have been informed that they will have Ofsted inspections in the autumn term; how many of them have been informed by Ofsted of the registered inspector appointed to carry out their inspection; how many of them have been told by Ofsted that their inspection is deferred until the spring term of 1995; and how many of them have neither been informed of their registered inspector nor been told of deferment.

Mr. Robin Squire

This is a matter for Her Majesty's chief inspector of schools, who heads the independent Office for Standards in Education. I have asked Professor Sutherland to write to the hon. Member.
