To ask the Secretary of State for Health whether the survey of English mental hospitals, initiated by the mental health task force in 1993, is to be repeated annually.

Mr. Bowis

The survey has been repeated for 1994, drawing together information on the hospitals as at 31 March. A decision has not yet been taken about whether the survey will be repeated in future years.
