§ Mr. Llew SmithTo ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster what guidance was sought from his Department, and what advice was given, in regard to the request made by theFinancial Times for details of decisions taken by qualified majority vote at ministerial meetings of the Foreign Affairs, Internal Market, Social Affairs and Agriculture Councils since 1989, under the EU code of conduct on public access to information.
§ Mr. WaldegraveThe Government have argued in the Council that the response to theFinancial Times should be as helpful as possible. This position took account of advice provided by the Cabinet Office.
