Under the Electricity Act 1989 the Director General of Electricity Supply must consult the Secretary of State on the appointment of chairmen to the regional electricity consumers committees. A list of chairmen was published in the Office of Electricity Regulation's annual report of 1992, which has been presented to Parliament in pursuance of section 50 of the Act. Other members of the committees are appointed by the director general in consultation with the individual chairmen. I have asked the director general to send the hon. Member a list of all current consumer committee members.
