HL Deb 20 January 1994 vol 551 c55WA
Lord Sefton of Garston

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they were aware of the 12 properties listed by the consultants Richard Ellis for consideration by London Transport before they took the decision to move their engineering department to Canary Wharf, and whether they are satisfied that the move to Canary Wharf will give value for money in the long term.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Transport (Lord Mackay of Ardbrecknish)

This is a matter for London Underground Limited, who I know have conducted a thorough appraisal of the move, and are satisfied that it represents good value for money. We are satisfied that the move is soundly based.
