To ask the Secretary of State for Wales how many people in Wales were employed full-time in(a) the civil service, (b) the steel industry and (c) the media at the latest available date.

of the 16,000 employees at November 1993 are believed to be part-time.

5 There is no single category in the standard industrial classification—1980—which relates exclusively to the media. The above figure is based on activity headings 4751, 4752, 4753, 8380, 9741 which include printing/publishing of newspapers, periodicals, and books; advertising; and radio/television services, theatres, etc.
