Footnotes to the tables:
Column B
1. The figures for number of schools use data derived from the Index for Educational Establishments.
Column C
2. The figures show total number of schools at which one or more ballots have been held.
Columns D and E.
3. The totals are of definitive ballot results. In some cases, where the first ballot had a turnout of under 50 per cent., a second ballot was required to achieve such a result.
4. The combined totals of "Yes" and "No" may exceed the number of schools at which ballots have been held (Column C) because some schools have gone through the complete balloting process more than once, (as distinct from requiring a second ballot to achieve a definitive result).
Column E
5. Includes two tied ballot results.
